Skincertainty covers Skincertainty. This page describes the information handled when you read skincertainty.com and the control you have over it.
Storage and Safeguards
We hold data only as long as the purpose requires. Subscriber records end at unsubscribe; comments end at deletion; analytics follow the retention window of whichever provider is in use. Safeguards include access control and transport encryption. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we do not claim to.
What It Is Used For
We use what we hold to operate the site, to see in aggregate what readers interested in Skincertainty find useful, to send subscribed email, and to enable advertising where it appears.
Cookie Use
- For anything cookie-related, our Cookie Policy is the document that applies.
-
Where advertising is served, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
Information We Collect
This site may collect technical visit data (IP address, device and browser identifiers, referrer, pages and times) and, separately, information you supply directly: subscription email addresses, comment names and addresses, and anything written in a message to us. One thing worth stating plainly for a site about Skincertainty: we ask readers not to send us sensitive personal details, and we delete rather than retain anything of that kind that reaches us unprompted.
Rights You Have
Whichever framework applies to you — UK/EU GDPR, California’s CCPA/CPRA, or another US state law — you can generally request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your data, object to particular uses, and opt out of sale or sharing for advertising. Global Privacy Control signals are honoured without you needing to contact us. Our State Privacy Notice and Do Not Sell or Share page go further.
Children and Young People
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under 16 where local law applies that age. This is an adult-facing site, and any children’s data that reaches us in error is deleted.
Email We Send
Email goes only to people who asked for it, verified by a double opt-in step. Each send includes an unsubscribe link and a postal address, and unsubscribing takes effect straight away.
External Partners
We rely on third parties for infrastructure and measurement: a host, a content-delivery layer, potentially an analytics provider, an email service for the newsletter, and advertising partners where advertising is served. Some are processors acting on our instruction; some, particularly advertising and analytics vendors, act as independent controllers under their own terms.
